The Australian Family Friendly Workplace Seminar 2009

Sydney, 9th & 10th September
UNSW: The University of New South Wales

In 2009, The Australian Family Friendly Workplace Seminar will once again represent the best opportunity for Australia’s human resources practitioners, executive level managers and independent business owners to stay abreast of evolving policies and practices within the family friendly arena.

Building on the outstanding success of the 2008 event, and in light of recent government initiatives such as the ‘Fresh Ideas for Work and Family Program’, the 2009 Seminar will explore relevant themes surrounding the development and implementation of successful employee-friendly initiatives. Newly developed content will expand on issues raised at last year’s event, and introduce topical discussions around current ideas and trends. During the Seminar, key Australian and international organisations will present case studies demonstrating their own employee-friendly policies and practices.

The 2009 Seminar will also represent a platform for presenters and delegates to explore the wider implications of maintaining an effective family-friendly workplace in the current global economic climate. In a recent press conference Dr Jacqui Abbott, Allens Arthur Robinson’s Head of Flexibility & Diversity, said organisations that continue to invest in flexible work programs over the next year will be better placed to take advantage of business opportunities coming out of the downturn. Dr Abbott will discuss how Allens Arthur Robinson is addressing these challenges during the Seminar.

In addition to the many insights offered by a comprehensive range of expert speakers, Seminar delegates will also benefit from the opportunity to engage with a broad cross section of like-minded professionals and discuss their own challenges and initiatives. Not surprisingly, last year’s event saw many great ideas and inspiring moments happen away from the podium.
